BioComputing UP lab at the DSB Retreat 2026

On 27–28 October, members of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Padua gathered at Villa Spessa for the DSB Retreat 2026. It was a chance to share research, discuss ongoing projects and catch up with colleagues from across the Department.

Our BioComputing UP Lab took part with two talks and three posters, presenting research on intrinsically disordered proteins, structural biology and cancer.

Talks

  • Maria Cristina Aspromonte – Insight into Intrinsically Disordered Proteins: From Function to Their Role in Disease
  • Francesco Gregoris – Decoding Hormone Receptor–pVHL Isoform Interactions in ccRCC through Integrative Transcriptomic and Structural Analysis

Posters

  • Mehdi Zoubuiri – What Work in Your Lab Never Becomes a Paper?
  • Mahta Mehdiabadi – Critical Assessment of Protein Intrinsic Disorder (CAID): Predicting Disorder in the Era of Protein Language Models
  • Alessia Strappazzon – pVHL Aggregation: Biophysical Aspects and Functional Role in Cancer Cells

A special mention goes to Alexander Miguel Monzon from our lab, who was part of the organizing committee.
