The paper presents Bluues2, an enhanced web server for the analysis of protein electrostatic properties. The platform introduces improved accuracy and new functionalities for studying protein–protein and protein–ligand complexes, including the calculation of binding free energies and electrostatic complementarity. Additional features include an integrated 3D structure viewer and a redesigned user interface, providing researchers with a more accessible and efficient environment for electrostatic analyses.

The Bluues2 server is accessible at https://bluues.biocomputingup.it/.

The redesigned Bluues2 interface, providing access to electrostatic analyses and visualization of protein structures and molecular complexes.

Bluues2 can be used to explore electrostatic properties and interaction features of molecular complexes through both visual and numerical analyses. The figure below illustrates representative results obtained with the server for the p27Kip1–cyclin A–Cdk2 complex.

Representative Bluues2 results for the p27Kip1–cyclin A–Cdk2 complex (PDB ID: 1JSU), including the 3D structure, numerical analysis results, and partner-facing interface surfaces generated through complex-mode analysis.
